Phiri has 23 years’ work experience in marketing communications and public affairs in Africa. She has held senior positions in corporate companies including TOTAL (as communications, media & events manager for South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini.  General Electric (GE) as head of communications and public affairs for Southern Africa and media relations manager for Africa.  Currently, she is the founder and MD of The African Storyteller, a leading strategic business communications and stakeholder relationship management firm with clients in healthcare, mining, and rail transportation. 

It has successfully positioned brands across the continent in countries such as Egypt, Ghana, Kenya,  Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. 

Thuli is a member of Ashinaga’s International Advisory Council (Ashinaga is a global NGO  headquartered in Japan and has provided over 100 000 scholarships to orphaned children).
